Visit a 2 months plus Standalone BH

Last week went in a standalone BH in agriculture land to check the result after turning on the sound for 2 months plus. I found 10 bird nest based markings, some at level 2 and some at level 3. Level 1 has few spots of droppings, hopefully next round check will find some nest base here. Most of the nest markings are built on the tweeter. This is to prove that the internal sound is favour by the swiftlets. Please enjoy the pictures taken during my visit. I applied those experience I gained over the years to this BH. 

I hope to have at least 100 full cup bird nests when reaching 1 year.

马幣升值‧货源充足‧燕窝收购价重挫

3 of 3（霹雳‧吉輦）马幣升值及市场货源充足导致燕窝收购价急挫，开齌节前每公斤约5千令吉的燕窝，下挫至4千400令吉左右，如果中国市场的缓慢需求量持续，价格可能会进一步滑落。





一些养燕业者鑑於价格的挫跌，不愿低价出售，唯有静观其变再作打算；不过，有者却认为低价出售好过囤货，若遇上贼徒光顾，可能会血本无归，最好跟著市场变动出货。



每公斤急挫五六百令吉



一名养燕业者告诉《星洲日报》，最近来自国外如越南、中国及泰国的收购代理，基於马幣的兑美元的升值，使到他们的成本增加而把价格压低，在短短1个月內，燕窝价格每公斤急挫约五六百令吉。



另一个原因是因月前適逢大马及印尼的回教徒庆开斋节，许多在燕窝加工厂工作的员工返乡过年，致使代理入货的燕窝加工生產暂停顿，令市场的货源充足。



“有关代理收购价是以燕盏为主，若燕盏的品质漂亮，价格还可再涨一点。其他的品种如角燕价格则介於3千800左右，碎燕则约1千200令吉左右。”



该名业者也表示，去年踏入农历十月，燕窝价经企稳在约4千800令吉，是因农历新年將至，燕窝的市场会越来越好。



业者：急挫情形料属短暂性



他深信目前燕窝价的急挫是因季节关係，属短暂性，过后必会回弹。



他也说，大马养燕业者之前的燕窝多由印尼的收购商前来收购，不过，因印尼的收购商常把价钱压得太低，令许多业者另寻出路。



如今，来自泰国、越南、中国等的商家也加入收购大马燕窝的行例，使养燕业者也多了一些选择。



一些收购商在早前以高价收购，若没有及时出货，隨著价格的急速变动，相信经蒙受不少的损失。



该业者也说，燕窝价若企稳在4千余令吉，还是有一定的回酬，投资者还是会继续在这行业斥资扩展燕屋。



收购商多採观望態度



本地燕窝收购商目前多採取观望的態度，而且许多养燕业者之前都以高价售出，收购商高价不买，养燕业者低价不卖，造成最近的燕窝收购市场淡静。



业者表示，燕窝价近几年曾创下最低纪录是每公斤约2千令吉，而最高则达7千令吉。

1 of 2（玻璃市‧加央）玻璃市州政府支持养燕工业，並將在近期內以政府名义，作小资本投资兴建燕屋，投入养燕领域，再给予州內有意加入此领域者適当的指引，鼓励更多小资本企业家参与投资。





设諮询委会提供燕屋指南



玻州农业及农基工业事务委员会主席沙比里说，州政府將会成立諮询小组委员会，容纳兽医局、加央市议会及土地局，作为提供养燕屋指南的小组，以確保不会造成不必要的麻烦。



他说，经过小组成员的考察，发现並非庞大的投资额才有能力经营养燕工业，所以率先由州政府作小投资额的“领头羊”，在加基武吉路20里碑兴建耗资约5万令吉的养燕屋，希望能让更多人看到养燕的商机潜能。



他昨天（12日）分別到十字港甘榜爪夷恩都、玻州港口及峇都布爹谷巡视养燕屋后，向媒体发表谈话。玻州兽医局主任诺哈迪也隨行。



沙比里说，由於政府尚未制定条例，只有中央政府所发出的养燕指南，所以每个养燕屋有各別的结构形式，投资额也各有不同，包括在住宅区商店改造为养燕屋，造成居民频密投诉噪音和卫生问题。



因此，他说，有了諮询小组委员会，就能给予更恰当的意见，包括如何引燕、减少噪音等，同时將养燕屋建在合適的地点，避免再出现养燕工业是“无人管”的领域。



建燕屋地段须转换用途



“最重要的是，准备兴建燕屋的私人地段必须转换为商业地段。”



询及州內有多少养燕业者，沙比里说，目前有89人已向州兽医局登记，不过相信州內有超过100名养燕投资者尚未註册。



他对於养燕工业抱有很大的信心，並相信只要用心经营，能够在他日有很不错的收成。



业者：不简单

“养燕业须耗数年才收成”



养燕业者许瑞福及阿都哈密异口同声说，养燕並非简单的事，需要耗上数年才能得到好收成。



许瑞福的燕屋位於他所经营的五金厂后方，耗资约20万令吉来兴建养燕屋和准备相关器材，至今约有5年，平均每个月可收成並卖出1公斤燕窝，值4千令吉左右。



至於阿都哈密，则把养燕屋建在本身的独立式洋房，儘管有人对此嘖嘖称奇，不过他说，燕子並不会造成环境污染，所以也为了引燕，业者不惜砸下重本，安装没给他和家人带来卫生问题。

（彭亨‧吉拉央15日訊）你聽過或見過全身皆白的燕子嗎？吉拉央一間燕屋出現罕見白燕，讓業者感到十分稀奇！

業者譚女士表示，該白色燕子處於剛成年的年級，目前在燕屋內筑窩，仍未產蛋。



网上資訊顯示，之所出現白燕，那是遺傳過程中基因變异出現的白化現象。

Result after a month

Finaly settled down all my works and others BH revamp, so I able to update my blog again. These is the result of my standalone BH after a month. Actually there were around 15 droppings, but I only upload some of the pictures. From the roving room picture, you can see there were some birds came to play or even stayed as there were some dropping on the wall of the roving room.

I am happy with the result, and affirm that the BH's design is providing conducive environment for swiftlets.
This is the result from my new sound. But I am still thinking the BH can do better, so I have changed it to my collection. Lets see how the result after a month later. Will update you again.

A tired weekend

Finally, I managed to turn on the sound and put my standalone BH into operation. I used 2 Amp for Internal sound to run alternately for 24hrs to support more than 1000 internal tweeters. 1 Amp for External sound and 1 Amp for Hexagon tweeters.

There were many standalone BHs went into operation last few months and there will be some standalone BH and shoplot BH going to operate as well. Therefore we must ensure our BH design, sound, aroma and microhabitat environmet are good in order to compete with others in such challenging situation.

In the coming weeks, I predict there will be a lot of young birds flying out as nowaday a lot of young birds still perching on the nest. So this is the good time to put your BH into operation. Since this is a standalone BH in agriculture land, so owl preventive measure is highly concerned and considered.

For standalone BH, you must possess some skill to attarct swiftlets from town to your agriculture land, furthermore to make the feel comfortable and stay down. If not, you will lose in such competitive situation. That's why around 80% failure rate especially those standalone BH.

Ready Made Mist Maker

As I have received quite a lot queries over DIY mist maker and wonder where to find the accessories and since I will be going back Malaysia over this weekend, I decide to make few off the shelf DIY mist maker (already installed water pipe adaptor, water level adjuster, PVC pipe, PVC T-join and container with cover ).
