Assembly of DIY Ultrsonic Humidifier

Pictures above are showing 10 disc ultrasonic mist maker and UK standard transformer. As I mentioned in my previous post, just put the 10 disc ultrasonic mist maker in the container and make a small hole for the cable to come out for connecting to the transformer ( it is put outside of the container). Another thing is to install a water level adjuster to control the the water level in the container which about 1 cm above the mist maker sensor ( 2 small black pillars). Please do not hold or carry the mist maker sensor as to prevent you from accidentally break it. The function of the mist maker sensor is to detect if the water level is lower than certain level, the mist maker will stop running as to prevent it from spoit.

Finally, you just make a 4 inches hole to install a PC fan at the side of the container.  You can use other type of container to modify either.

As maintenance, you just need to clean the water in the container, 2 to 6 months once, depends on your birds' population. High population, water will get dirty faster.

Operation Hours ( 12pm to 5:30pm)- You can set timer to 15 mins On & 15 mins Off (raining season) or 30 mins On & 15 mins Off. However, it depends on the weather in your area.

Since there are a lot of blog readers interesting to buy, I have ordered 10 sets and it is in the shipment. Based on first come first serve. The cost for 1 pc is Rm 800 including postage in Malaysia. If with accessories (PC fan, water level adjuster, water pipe adaptor), the cost is Rm 850.00 only.

If you still have any doubt, please contact me @ 02-9616 5050. (S'pore phone)

May your swiftlets population has sustainable grow with such reasonable cost and effective equipment!

  1. Many thanks for the info.
The PC fan when used under such high humidity conditions, how long will it last?

  2. Hi Tweeter,

I have used it for almost a year, so far no problem. It shouldn't be a problem because we are not running it for 24 hrs.

  3. It would be even better if we add humidistat into it so that we can control the exact humidity we want.

  9. Is it true that the fog produced from these transducers will increase the bird house temperature a few degree?

  10. No such thing. Besides it help to stabilise the internal condition of BH to swiftlets favour.

  12. In my opinion, the humidifier does create warm mist but it has no negative effect on the swiftlets as far from my observation. Only prolong usage will tell. I have bought a ultrasonic humidifier and has also DIY one and the above is my finding.

The one thing I like about them are that they don't wet the floor esp. in town BHs which may create unwelcome problem to the lower floor tenants.

How to buy? as the one that I DIY has only 2 oscillators disk....and I recommend that the unit be placed outside the BH as we don't what long effect the unit has on the swiftlets.
